This winter, we had a HUGE number of albums in the production queue.  So many in fact that some of my wonderfully patient couples understood that it would be summer before we could put our full attention on their wedding album retouching and design.

I’m super excited because we now have only a few left – I’ve been a busy girl!  And although most of our albums ordered this year are a special Japanese papercraft album which is more like a matted album, I thought I’d share a page or two from some of our more recent flushmount storybook designs.

This one I finished last night and my couple is reviewing as we speak.  I want to wait until they approve and then I want to post the whole darn thing.  They’re SO cute and crazy in love and the little moments we caught from them so powerful.

This one’s from a couple who wanted a very traditional look, almost to the point of looking like a matted album.  My personal taste is a ton of color and lots of texture and surprising graphic elements, so I had to tone myself down a bit.  It also features a cool shot of Peninsula Golf & Country Club, one of my favorite venues that their planner Kristina Taheri and lighting designer John Woods from Enhanced Lighting just made shine! Floral design was La Lavande and all the sparklies were from Classic Party Rentals.  Such a cool place – and a wonderful and fun couple. We’ve just sent their album today to our bookbinder and I’m excited to see the final album!

Next is from Amanda & Zech, who recently picked up their album.  This layout’s one of the more serious moments in the whole day.  Just imagine Zech’s brother halfway through the reception clamping a bowling ball and chain on Zech’s leg and making him do a lap around the Palm Event Center!  I already miss these two.  :D

A few of the coolest things about our new studio…

1.  Lots of room.  As in, the same size as our townhome!

2.  Nooks and crannies to shoot and playing with gels and lights and backgrounds and fabric.

3.  Having stuff you can buy off the walls, desks, and floor.

I thought I’d combine 2 and 3 and show you a few of the fun things I can now offer my brides & grooms & moms and grandmas and…

One of a kind mini folio albums, handcrafted and ready for images!

We’ve got a ton more – I wanted to show you the latest commission we just got in for our clients Jeanne & Farsheed but I’m going to wait until they see it first.  Don’t want to spoil the surprise!

Okay, back to editing Stephanie & Homero’s wedding – I can’t WAIT for them to see their new slideshow!

I’m having a blast with albums right now.  I love that I get to relive the time I spent with my clients!  The one I’m working on now is for Jennifer & Tim, Casa Real, November 2008.  They were wonderful and crazy in love, and had no fear of the camera.  One of my favorites they’ve decided to put in their album – wanna see?

I love big albums.  Love designing them big, love showing them big.  But this time I thought I’d be a little more, um, manageable with our studio album!  We’ve retired our trusty 14×14 album from the Palm Event Center and I’ve just finished a 12×16 album to go with the 12×12.  One is more conservative, with leather and canvas.  The other is more showy, with an acrylic cover over a metal print bonded to the back.

What’s really cool is the companion book that will go with it.  It’s press printed with a metallic cover, a mini version of the big one that you can pop into a purse.  Fun!

Tiffany and Javier’s wedding last summer at Nestldown is featured and I’m so excited to share.  Want to see a bit?  :D
