For the first time, we hit the RECORD button on our Canon 5D Mark II cameras.  I knew for Sherrie & Andrew, the first glance was a huge moment for them.  They had Amos Productions as their videography team so I knew they’d have the moment preserved on video, and I’m not a videographer and have no intention of bringing it into any of our offerings.  But…I did want a little sumpin’ special in the slideshow I was making for them as a surprise.  5 seconds, no more.   See if you can spot it!

As promised! :D
Here’s Kat & Scott’s romantic candlelit ceremony – in an earlier post, I remembered I hadn’t made a slideshow for them because it was so close to my Christmas break.
I’m trying a new slideshow creator, not sure if I like it as much as my trusty one I’ve been using for a few years now. What do y’all think?

Kerry is a goddess.  Well, she is to me.  She’s the one that introduced me in a roundabout way to Erin & Dom.  That was after she told her brother about me, who was marrying Erin’s sister, and after she was in Molly & Robert’s wedding…  I’m hoping someday Kerry will hire me, too!

So I realized after I finished Erin & Dom’s post production that I had a bit of time to make them a surprise slideshow.  They’re all the way in Dallas now so it’s not like they can come here and see anything on our big screen, right? Then I thought – oh man, did i make a slideshow for her sister Kat and hubby Scott?!  I was racing to get the post done before Christmas, and it was just before we headed to the east coast for two weeks…I bet I didn’t!  Arg!

So I’m posting a surprise slideshow for the gorgeous Erin and her handsome Dom.  And then, I’ll be making and posting one for the equally gorgeous Kat and her also very handsome Scott.  :D But what can I post for Kerry?  Hmmmm…

The other day, the director of my son’s preschool asked if I would consider taking a few photos of the kids at work so they could update the website.  Heck yes!  Are you kidding?  Come and play with my son and his friends for an hour or so with a camera in my hand?  That’s the ideal life for me!  Yipee!

I have to tell you about my son’s preschool, Aurora CDC in Campbell.  I’m completely in love with this school, the teachers, the environment.  We saw a marked change when we moved Donovan from his former preschool to this one.  He thrives on the Montessori method of teaching, and I’m thrilled when I see the three instructors Gladys, Julie and Pandora use their “strict voices” when needed.  The kids are happy, they’re learning (my little guy was writing the other day holding his pencil the correct way!), they have structure.

Here’s a little snapshot of the day!

I’m a big fan of Melissa & Brian.  I met them last fall and just wanted to adopt them as my little brother and sister almost immediately.

I’m an equally big fan of Casa Real.  Huge.  The food is amazing, the staff is amazing, the location is amazing.  Trifecta of yumminess!

Bring all that fandom together and you get – slideshow!  Whoo!  I bet you thought I forgot how to put them together, huh?  ::grin::

I love Silvia and Danny.  End of story.   (Oh for pete’s sake, and I used to write for a living!)

Kelvin was shooting with Matt up in Berkeley, so I asked my friend and fellow photog Mark Stagi if he’d like to join me for the day – I was so happy he said yes!  Mark and I compliment each other well, we’re both quite laid back and are just so excited to be there. I love shooting with friends because you never know what you might learn from each other.  With Mark, it was supplemental lighting during the ceremony and the dance floor.  I never considered it because I always thought it would be tough to set up, and intrusive, but Mark had it up and set in a jiff, and you really didn’t see the lights. It added a fun pop during key moments, especially the tosses.  I might try it sometime, but I’m just so in love with as much natural light as I can get…maybe during the later part of the evening when the house lights go down.

The view at Eagle Ridge is quite beautiful, and Silvia and Danny had to pull strings to have the ceremony upstairs on the covered patio.  Usually, weddings at this venue are down on a lawn in front of a tiny gazebo and nowhere near the beautiful view, so I’m glad they pulled those strings!  Two of Silvia’s favorite things are clouds and trees, so we made sure to incorporate as much of both as we could.  Danny was just happy to see his wife so happy!  The shots of the two of them after the ceremony – hello!  She’s beaming!

Congrats you two, I love you both very much.
